MEVLID
Turkish Sufi Soundscapes series explores an evolving sonic universe crafted from fragments of instruments and chants drawn from Turkish Sufi recordings. These sacred compositions—a deep spiritual synthesis of Turkish culture and Islam—are reimagined through new musical expressions. Building upon classical makam structures and hypnotic dhikr motifs, the series transforms this spiritual heritage into a transcendent experience.
The third circle of the series, ‘Mevlid’, is inspired by the timeless verses of ‘Tevhid Bahri’—the opening section of the famous Mevlid-i Sharif, written by Süleyman Çelebi to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.V).
