NAAT
Turkish Sufi Soundscapes series explores an evolving sonic universe crafted from fragments of instruments and chants drawn from Turkish Sufi recordings. These sacred compositions—a deep spiritual synthesis of Turkish culture and Islam—are reimagined through new musical expressions. Building upon classical makam structures and hypnotic dhikr motifs, the series transforms this spiritual heritage into a transcendent experience.
The second circle of the series is inspired by the Naat-i Sharif—a timeless masterpiece traditionally echoing at the opening of Mevlevi ceremonies, with lyrics by Hazrat Mevlânâ and composed by Itrî.
